Stats Table Guard Lite is a free, read-only Back Office utility for inspecting how much database storage is used by known PrestaShop statistics tables. It is designed to help merchants and administrators spot old or unexpectedly large statistics data without running destructive maintenance actions.

The dashboard scans a fixed whitelist of known PrestaShop statistics tables and shows approximate row counts, data size, index size and total table size where the database server exposes that metadata.

Find historical connection data

Stats Table Guard Lite shows the oldest and newest available connection date using bounded indexed date queries where supported. This makes it easier to see whether a shop still contains years of historical traffic data.

Understand what is collecting statistics

The dashboard also shows whether the related PrestaShop statistics collection module is currently active in the shop context and reports the current page-view collection flags. Historical database storage is still reported even when collection is currently disabled.

Safe read-only design

Some shared hosting environments restrict access to database metadata. Lite is designed to degrade gracefully: existing known tables can still be reported where they can be detected, while unavailable size or row estimates are marked as unknown instead of triggering destructive fallbacks.

  1. Open the Stats Table Guard Lite configuration page in your Back Office.
  2. Review the available table-size and row-count estimates. Treat partial metadata as incomplete information.
  3. Check the oldest and newest connection dates and the current statistics-collection status.
  4. Use the read-only results to assess your reporting and retention needs. Pro describes a separate preview-and-cleanup workflow; purchasing Pro is not enabled yet.

Does Lite delete old statistics?

No. Lite is intentionally read-only and contains no cleanup implementation.

Will it run heavy full-table counts?

Not during a normal dashboard scan. Approximate row counts come from database metadata where available.

What if my hosting blocks database metadata?

The scanner degrades gracefully and marks unavailable estimates as unknown instead of attempting unsafe or expensive fallback operations.

Can I upgrade from Lite to Pro later?

Yes. Lite and Pro use the same technical module directory. Replacing the Lite files with the Pro build keeps the same module identity and Pro initializes its additional defaults when opened.
